...reminiscing...

he aprendido tanto desde que he llegado, algunas cosas
enseñamos quienes no estaban listos aun, y oro
facebook no me queire, {todavia busco}
bueno a mi.

extraño a los amigos maravillosos que encontré, {misioneros y chilenos}

{ok. también, me tienes que disculpar por mi gramática... lo siento mucho}

at the five month mark, here i sit reminiscing {again} my wonderful Chile

i have learned so much since i have been home, some things
that i wish i would have known in the mission,
i am lacking from the lack of my people,
{that doesn't make sense in english}
i read through my journals or look a pictures and i remember people
we taught who weren't ready, just yet, and pray
so fervently for them. i want to know how they are, but
facebook is not on my side {still searching}
i think i should write the sisters in those areas, and
see how they are doing... that sounds
like a good idea to me.

i miss the food
i miss the bread
i miss loving to walk everywhere
i miss talking to everyone
i miss meeting so many new people
i miss constantly testifying/talking of Christ
i miss the wonderful friends found in other missionaries and chileans alike.
i miss speaking spanish all the time
i miss the mantle of perfect optimism, and faith

Your mom posted the cutest pictures of you on IG today (which is how I remember you) and I decided to click over to your blog. My baby girls ask me to sing a song to them every night and sometimes I remember when you would ask me to sing at bedtime. First, I want to say happy birthday! Also I love this blog post...I have been home from my mission for 15 years now and I feel exactly the same way. I still miss so many things about being a missionary and miss the people. I've learned to cook argentine food, we regularly eat empanadas and milanesas...so good! I have found quite a few people on Facebook and it has been awesome to reconnect. Just last year a girl added me on FB and I didn't recognize her name or her picture. She only had her married name and I met her when she was 15. She looked so different, but when I finally recognized her I was so happy! Happy to chat with her but mostly happy that she was married in the temple and still faithful to the gospel. She used to go out on cambios with us. I hope you find mission friends soon or maybe they'll find you! I also hope you had a great birthday and keep being awesome!
Best wishes, Sara Monks Galaso
