We become what we think
*
I do not need a group of woman banding together putting down femininity to know I am worth it.
I do not need words against assumed oppression to rise to my full potential.
I do not need to march against anyone or anything to prove that I love being a woman.
I do not need to break norms, be a fighter, an athlete, a business woman, or an activist to be considered brave.
I do not need to be like a man to be great.
I do not need to put down a man to be able to promote myself.
I do not need to exploit my body to achieve my goals.
I do not need to rise from the ashes of women past.
I do not need validation or recognition to have value.
The future is not female and the past is not male. No great man or woman has ever done it alone.
I am not being oppressed.
**
Women were great before they started proclaiming it.
Women were great when they cleaned and cooked and supported their husbands.
Women were great when they sacrificed their lives and ambitions for their children.
Women were great when they stepped up and worked when life got hard.
Women were even great when they made a dang sandwich.
Great women respect and build up men.
Great women work together using different skills to complement what great men bring.
Great women respect themselves and their bodies.
Great women are great because they have decided they are great.
This generation should not be told they are oppressed and that they need to break free. This will only breed hate. You may decide to be something different than me, and that is the beauty of this nation, but don't you ever speak for me and say I have no voice, I have no freedom, I am oppressed or I need to stand up.
I am a woman.
"We are shaped by our thoughts, we become what we think."

I am not being oppressed.
I am not seen as more or less than a man.
I am not disadvantaged by being born a woman.
I am not a victim to my circumstances.
I am
different
from men.
My talents
range; my
interests:
uni-
que; my nature
distinct. I am a daughter
of God. I am kind. I am soft.
I am strong. I am merciful.
I am selfless. I am wise.
I am a nurturer.
I am complex.
I am brave.
I am made of tears.
I am made of service.
I am made of compassion.
I am feminine. I am sensitive.
I am made of what I decide to be.
I am happy. I am good. I am divine.
I am smart. I am valuable. I am honest.
I am not these things because a woman
told me so, and I will not stop
to be these things
because a woman
tells me I shouldn't
be them any
longer. I
was who I
am long
before
femin-
ism
began
and
will
be
long
after
it
fades.

*I understand that all are not as lucky as I am,
but marching here will not change what happens there
**A woman's greatness has not changed. They are still great. :)
