a fabulous week.
I can't even say how great this past week has been. My friends and I have done so many fun and adventurous things, I am so in love with Utah, goodness.
The week started out with Chantelles farewell, {now this is not part of the fabulousness... this part is sad, but also too exciting for words} It was so fun! She did such a wonderful job and she is going to be such a great missionary, I can't even handle it. SWEDEN! Look out! You are about to receive a miracle in a body. After her farewell she and I went to the Missionary broadcast where they talked about taking the "every member a missionary" to the next level, and all the missionaries were there and it was just so exciting! It was such a cool experience!! That evening we had planned to watch a movie but couldn't get it figured out, so we just chatted about life and missions and it was just so great, something I think we all needed.

Then come Monday we decided we were going to do a camping trip! But turns out we have a couple sissies in the group... and people who have stuff to do in the mornings...? so tuesday night we camped in Chantelles backyard. STILL SO FUN! We had a camp fire, and told stories, and sang camp songs, and there was a NO HOUSE rule. (which I must admit I broke...). But after the evening festivities we set up our beds, snuggled under the stars, and fell asleep. When we awoke people quickly scattered this way and that, but for a little while, we were just a few little campers.
Wednesday came next! And this was another day that made up for the not so fun events... We woke up, cleaned up, and went home to get a little clean. Then jocelyn and I went back to chan's for what we thought would be a bike ride, but it was 100 degrees out, so we decided a little PMG sesh would do us good! And can I just reiterate how much I love my friends? They are the best girls out there, and they are going to be the best missionaries. After our study session we did the not so fun part. SHOTS! Now if you know Mandy, you know she hate picking and prodding and changing and well doing anything to her body that isn't what it does everyday. So shots are not fun. But thank goodness for good friends being there for me while I baby it up. {in case you were wondering, my arm is still sore} but then it was over and we were on our way, I was happy to say. After the shots Chan and I went to get out hair cut! But there was a little drama here. The girl who was scheduled to cut Chantelles hair was in the process of getting her hair done. And even once it was done, and Chantelle was still sitting there she got it blow dried and styled.... but it's okay, they worked it out and Chan came in the next day. Then when we returned home we made dinner for the LaFontaine family and her dad told stories of his childhood and it was just such a fun night. Chan and I then had a fun little sleep over because the following morning we had more adventures planned!
Thursday! We woke up in the wee hours of the morning 4:45 and went up to squaw peak to watch the sunrise! It was so pretty and it was so calm! There was another group of small children {aka: high schoolers} who were being a little rambunctious, but we made the most of it! We lit some sparklers and had a grand ol' time!
We returned home and went on with our days. My day consisted of my last class with my competition teams. It was so sad. We had parties in each class which was so fun but on my goodness I am going to miss those tinies so much! {and not just the tinies, all my niƱas} But more on that in a later post. But it was a blast! We played freeze dance tag, and made up dances, and ate food, and just had an overall good time. My niƱas are the sweetest girls!! Straight after work we went back over to Chantelles to watch the movie we didn't Sunday. We snuggled and chatted and well, just had a grand ol' time!! Again, I love my friends. Then we made some last minute plans for the grandest adventure of the week!
The friday morning HIKE! Now, again, if you know me, you know I get altitude sickness, and well... hiking takes you to higher altitudes. But I was determined this wasn't going to hold me back, so I chugged the water, gatorade, and power bars, and attacked that mountain! {haha} once we reached the top there was a gorgeous clear lake made from glacial water! To say it was freezing cold would be an understatement. If it wasn't 100 decrees outside and if we hadn't just hiked we probably would have died... But we were fine! :) The first few jumps were horrifying because we knew exactly what we were getting into {which was basically ice!} but then we started swimming around in it and it felt so nice. After hanging out at the top for a while we turned around and headed for home! It was such a fun adventure! oh! and on the way back Spar (chantelles dog) caught a potgut! Poor little guy, but a great story!
Starting the adventure!
unintentionally perfectly posed.. haha
Just before we all got the courage to jump in!
After we had gotten our swim on!
When we got back from our hike we showered, settled our headaches, and decided to go up to a drive in movie in salt lake! We went and saw Monsters University! Cutest movie, I highly recommend it! I also highly recommend going to a drive it movie! It was so crazy fun! {one more recommendation, check the weather before going... we were expecting a chilly night but instead it was 100 degrees at 9:00 pm...}
Then saturday rolled in. Chantelle had left on her adventure in Florida leaving us alone, but we didn't let it get us down. Jocelyn Meggyj and I first went swimming up at deer creek! It was so hot outside so the cool lake felt so good! And it was hot enough that the little moss floaties couldn't gross us out. After we had gotten our swim on we went back to Megans and Joce's sister called inviting us to go boating at deer creek! So we went on back and boated till the sun went down! Once we got back we decided to go up to the canyon where we... star gazed... three girls together... hahah then we drove around, got ice cream {they did, don't worry, I'm still off ice cream} and called it a night!
Come Sunday I was motivated. I got my temple recommend!! and guess that else I finally finished... MY YOUNG WOMANS PERSONAL PROGRESS!!! {insert mental applause}
I never really wanted it when I was in YW but I got a good chunk of it done, but then once I graduated and was in my summer semester of college I all of a sudden wanted to get it, so I figured I was still 17, lets finish it up! {p.s. you have till you are no longer 18} So I got really close!!! But when I only had a few left, the summer ended, and I started Fall semester, got really busy, and forgot. But sure enough, come summer I remember again and wanted to get it done. And here I am, 12 days before my 19th birthday and I finished! Yay!
Well, that was quite the lengthy post. Now you see why I was so stoked about this past week! It was so fun and something I will never forget!
so thank you to my amazing friends!!
you are all the best a girl could ask for.
now YOU!
go be adventurous!
enjoy this beautiful world God created for us!
love,
the little sis.
